Business Development Manager

Here is a rare opportunity for an experienced sales hunter with a B2B building & construction materials background, to join an established manufacturer & supplier of premium-end architectural hardware products. 

This is a new field sales position, created to expand and service sales across NSW, ACT and QLD, with a focus on architects, specifiers, engineers, builders, project and site managers.

Located at head office in the Gladesville / Ryde area, you will be supported by a small team of in-house technical service engineers, specifiers, estimators and customer service staff. 

Reporting to the Sales Director, your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying business opportunities and developing relationships with key prospects and existing customers.
  • Developing prospective plans for face-to-face, phone, virtual presentation and network marketing.
  • Actively following up leads and presenting product solutions. 
  • Coordinating end to end marketing support for large construction project bids of high interest.
  • Driving awareness of company products by direct contact with the marketplace, and following up for photo & promotional opportunities.
  • Keeping up to speed with technical knowledge, product applications, and features & benefits (compared to competitors).

 The person we seek for this role would ideally have:

  • Relevant trade/ tertiary qualifications and training.
  • A building & construction material sales background. 
  • The technical aptitude to assess customer needs, solve problems and provide product solutions (and get their business!!).
  • Experience and track record as a B2B Sales Hunter.
  • Strong customer service & relationship building skills, at all levels.
  • Good time management skills…with ability to organise, plan your work and work your plan.
  • Excellent people and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Computer literacy with MS Office products, along with preferred exposure to SAP, BCI software and CRM systems like Hubspot.

An attractive Salary Package is negotiable according to qualifications & experience….as a guide $130k OTE including base & monthlybonus, Plus % Commission on your above budget Sales, Plus fully maintained Company Car (or car allowance), super, phone and computer tools.
